Meal Planning

Are you low on time and energy?

Are you feeling bloated, fatigued, or stressed?

Are you tired of the same meals and looking for something new and healthy?

Well, my friend, you’ve come to the right place 🙂

My journey through the world of nutrition, and cooking specifically, has taken many twists and turns over the years. As I shared in Brittany Does Food I grew up eating southern meals and convenience foods, many of which were full of preservatives, food dye, hormones, and antibiotics just to name a few. It wasn’t until my early twenties when I really started to grasp what it meant to actually EAT and FEEL healthy.

There was a period of time where, after seeing many a disheartening documentary, that I tried a vegetarian diet. I didn’t want to contribute to the abuse and slaughter of innocent animals for food. I was completely checked out of my relationship with the meats I was previously buying, already packaged, at the grocery store. Because of this, I couldn’t feel good about eating meat products. I also had heard about all the wonderful health benefits of a vegetarian diet, so my well-being was also taken into consideration. However, I was not feeding myself in a way that was serving my body. My energy dropped drastically, I was loading up on carbs and sugar, and my eyes always felt and looked sunken in and tired. Although I was eating veggies and steering clear of processed meats, I was certainly NOT feeling my best.

Fast forward a few years, through making the switch to organic labeled foods, I still had a slightly skewed perspective on what was “healthy”. I trusted the “organic” labels, and bought packaged foods without doubt or question of all the things hidden inside them. Not to mention the amount of SUGAR that can sneak into literally everything. I was eating waffles and tortillas and all things organic in the bread and cheese department, and again found myself feeling low energy, sometimes depressed, and unsettled inside my body. I had no idea I had food sensitivities….until I tried an elimination diet.

I chose to do the Standard Process 21-day Purification Program, and MAN did that shed some light on how my body truly responded to the things I was putting inside it. I realized that my digestive, nervous, and cardiovascular systems were out of balance, along with several other areas of my body. Things I thought were “normal” or that everyone experienced, turned out to be the effects of what I was consuming. Bloating, gas, bumps on my skin, sluggishness, adrenal fatigue…these symptoms are not caused by your body functioning at ideal levels. These are all signs that something is out of balance.

So, my point in sharing all of this is to give more background of how nutrition has impacted and changed my life time and time again. I rekindled my love for cooking and feeding myself when I really learned which foods best served my body. I’ve challenged myself to use and understand foods that I didn’t previously know much about. I’ve reprogrammed my cooking habits to reflect the knowledge I’ve gained around eating whole foods….and now I’m ready to share that with you all!

I’ve begun formulating meal plans and recipes that are simple to follow, making them easy to integrate into your daily routine. Having a clear plan and direction can help your life around food become more fluid until those new habits begin to be your new routine. Choosing foods that are real and natural, without weird chemicals or preservatives, can support the body and overall health in so many ways. Changing your relationship with how you view the foods you “can” or “can’t” eat, and making consistent choices that are in alignment with how you want to treat your body are huge steps, and I’m here to help you through it!

SO – what are you waiting for? Now is the time to take control of your health! If there are any questions you have, or if you’re just looking for more information around what it is I’m here to offer, feel free to email me at
